ℯNEWS MAY 3, 2024
This week has been a bit of a whirlwind for us at CHS! Thank you once again for all your continued support with the unexpected turn of events yesterday. Thankfully we were all able to get everything back up and running smoothly.
Quiz Club Championships - Thursday 2 May
Four pupils headed off to University College School on Thursday to take part in the annual Quiz Club Maths tournament. The team of Aurelia, Emma, Eleanor and Mimi were pitted against fifteen other teams in a mind-bending array of thirty challenging maths questions. The team performed superbly and were in second place with two-thirds of the competition completed. In the closing stages, the questions became more and more challenging. The pupils ultimately ended in a mid-table position but performed admirably throughout this challenging tournament.
Junior Maths Challenge
Earlier in the week, we received the outcome of this year's Junior Maths Challenge. Thirteen pupils took part in the annual event which comprises twenty-five problem-solving questions which the pupils have to solve. There were brilliant results from everyone, with Oscar getting a gold award and Amy finishing as the highest placed student in the school. Her total of 96 points means she has qualified for the Junior Kangaroo competition in June.
Road Safety Petition
Connaught House School is collaborating with Sylvia Young Theatre School to apply to the local council for improved pedestrian crossings in the vicinity. Please take a few moments to complete this questionnaire, indicating where you have the most concerns about crossing the roads around the school. If there are any other concerns regarding pedestrian crossings around the school please also let us know in the questionnaire here: https://forms.gle/VGEBgmnFM1Zh3L6J9.
